Cape Verde is the third biggest nesting point for the Caretta Caretta, loggerhead turtles. This night tour will take you to one of the protected nesting beaches of Sal island where you can experience the emotion of seeing a loggerhead turtle laying her eggs. You will be picked up at the reception of your hotel and taken to one of the nesting beaches on Sal island. The transfer lasts approximately 20 minutes and in this time an experienced guide will explain you everything you need to know about the life and habits of the turtles as well the rules that you need to respect. Once arrived to the beach one of the guides will stay with you seated on the sand while the other guide will start searching for the turtle. When the guide finds a turtle, you will be informed by VHF radio and start walking on the beach to arrive to the turtle. It is recommended to bring a beach towel to be more comfortable while waiting on the beach. Dark colored clothes and closed shoes are recommended. It is forbidden to take photos with flash and use white or bright lights on the protected beaches.
Please note that even if we have a very high success rate, being nature, we cannot guarantee to see a turtle. In case this happens, you will be given the chance to come another day FOR FREE!
With this excursion, we support the conservation of the sea turtles of Sal Island by donating part of the profits to the local non-profit @ProjectBiodiversityCV. Their guards and volunteers have been protecting the turtles for the last four nesting seasons! If you would like to help even more, you can also adopt a baby turtle in our offices, and take home a nice official certificate of adoption (all money goes to the protection of sea turtles).

Payments and cancellation terms. When you book a product/tour on our website, we will answer you in the shortest time possible to confirm your reservation. Once the confirmation is done we will collect your payment information and process your payment. At the time of confirmation you will need to leave a deposit of 50% from the price of the tour. 3 days before the tour you will receive an e-mail with the balance and the request to process the rest of the payment. We accept payments with Mastercard , Visa and bank transfers. Once arrived to the destination, you will need to contact our main office at Djadsal Moradias Blue Block R 0/3 in Santa Maria (Sal island), or if you inform us in advance we can also meet you at the reception of your hotel, to give you your personalised excursion vouchers and the exact pick up times. Canceling a booking which was already confirmed can result in cancellation fees as outlined below: If you cancel at least 7 calendar days in advance, there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel between 3 and 6 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel within 2 calendar days in advance, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee. It is not possible to cancel the tours to the other islands, since we must book a flight ticket at the time of the confirmation of your booking. You are requested to be at the pick-up point in time, in order to avoid delays or miss the coach, which anyway do not allow a refund. In case it’s needed for the tour (Quad, ATV, Buggy, Rent a car) please don’t forget to have your original, valid driving licence with you. In case you don’t have it, it does not allow a refund. No Limits Adventure, Cabo Tours L.d.a. in no case can be held responsible for any loss or damage of clients belongings during the excursions. In case of excursion being organized through other Operators, transport companies or other organizations, No Limits Adventure, Cabo tours L.d.a cannot be held responsible for any resulting damage as acting as intermediary between clients and named suppliers.
